The story behind Steady Love

After the tragic murder of his daughter Christina in 2016, Bud and his wife Tina faced a grief no parent should ever endure. Just two years later, Bud lost Tina, his beloved wife of 31 years, to breast cancer. In the wake of overwhelming loss, he found himself searching for meaning, hope, and a way to keep moving forward.Returning to the South Jersey shore town where their story began, Bud reflects on a lifetime of memories, mistakes, faith, questions, and the moments that shaped his family’s journey. Through heartbreak and healing, Steady Love becomes more than a memoir. It is an invitation to wrestle with life’s deepest questions:
- Is there more beyond this life?
- Where is God in the middle of suffering?
- Can hope survive devastating loss?
- What does it mean to truly surrender your life to God?
With honesty, vulnerability, and compassion, Bud shares the lowest moments of his life alongside the faith that carried him through them. This is not a story about having all the answers. It is a story about discovering that even in our darkest moments, we are not abandoned. For anyone who has struggled with grief, questioned their purpose, wrestled with doubt, or longed for peace, Steady Love offers a powerful reminder: brokenness does not have to be the end of the story.God’s love remains steady, even when everything else falls apart.

MORNING PRAYER

Mentioned throughout Steady Love, this simple morning prayer grew from years of Scripture, grief, triumph, and God’s unfailing grace. These twelve markers became a framework for the author’s life, strengthening his faith and offering a pathway to hope.

ABIDE NOTES

As shared in Steady Love, these pages are the original collection of Scripture that Bud gathered during quiet moments after verses began surfacing in his mind. When he showed his handwritten notes to Tina, she lovingly typed them up for him. These four pages are a treasured glimpse into the Bud’s journey of learning what it means to abide, to remain, and to stay connected to God.
